Lesson 7 – Creating & Implementing a Social Strategy

All RIGHT! You’ve just done something amazing! Let’s pause right here for a second and celebrate how freaking LEGIT you are. You have a lead magnet! You’re building a sales funnel! {Insert all the happy dance gifs right here! ?}

A lot of the magic in marketing comes from showing up & doing the work, and you are doing a phenomenal job!

We are so proud of you for sticking it out and making it this far.

Quick fist bump before we move on to your social media strategy. ?

One of the biggest misconceptions about marketing in 2020 is that if you string together a sequence of tactics, it will form a strategy.

A formula isn’t a strategy. Using thirty hashtags in a specific order isn’t a strategy. Using follower count as a marker of your success certainly isn’t a strategy.

Your strategy is aligned to YOU, as a person. In fact, your strategy IS you.

It’s not about posting consantly or obsessing about the algorithm – that’ll make you crazy. It’s also not about spending hours every day creating generic content or sharing thoughts with little to no engagement.

Social media isn’t the be-all and end-all of marketing – it’s simply a tool to access your people.

When you use social media as a tool to create and foster relationships, it is felt deeply by the folks on the other side of the smartphone. That is the heart and soul of your business and it’s important not to sacrifice the quality of the way you’re showing up, simply because you have the ability to broadcast to so many people.

With that in mind, are you ready to build out your social media strategy?

1. There’s no video for this lesson, but go ahead and fill out pages 35-36 of your workbook.

2. Once that’s complete, it’s time to whip out that pretty content planner and start filling it out!

3. One of the first pages in your calendar is “Year at a Glance.” This is marketing GOLD, my friend. Plan out your promotions and jot down any seasonal shifts or vibes you need to be aware of. This is something you’ll refer to again and again, year after year, so keep it handy and update it regularly!

4. Brainstorm a few topics that are relevant for you this month and spend an hour or two creating some long form content that you can split out across your emails & social media posts!

We know how intimidating content creation can be, but you’ve got this! Take as much time as you need here – and challenge yourself to create as much long-form content as possible. It’ll save you so much time down the road!

If you’d like some fresh eyes on your content, shoot it our way! We’d love to see what you’ve got going on. (Especially Carolyn – she is nuts for copy!)
