Career Coach Website Design: Kendra’s Story | Knap Creative

Some career coach website design projects end with a dramatic before-and-after. Big revenue numbers, a waitlist, you name it.

Kendra’s story isn’t that, but we wanted to share it anyways, because it’s just too real.

Kendra Rolheiser is a career and leadership coach with a real gift for guiding people through transitions. She’s someone who’ll remember you, check in on you, and cheer for you even when you haven’t talked in months. (I can personally attest to this!)

She was also, when we first connected, still figuring out how much she wanted to lean into it.

She had a corporate job she loved. She had a sprinkle of coaching on the side that lit her up.

We met at a women’s breakfast and immediately ignored everyone else at the table. Which was kinda rude. But also, kinda the best. Ha

She needed a simple, professional coaching website she could confidently hand someone after a conversation. Basically just a place that said, “I’m here, I’m real, here’s how / who I can help.”

And even though she wasn’t sure if she was quite ready to go all in, she was too curious to do nothing. (You know the feeling? I know the feeling.) She knew she had the skills, but she wasn’t sure that this was the exact container for her expertise.

This is one of the sneakiest things about building a service business — especially as a coach. Putting your work on a website feels like a Big Deal, and it’s a massive leap.

What we’ve found, over and over (and even personally), is that the website often comes before the confidence. You build the thing, you see it out in the world looking real and profesh and like you, and all of a sudden you can talk about your work without hedging. You can pass on your card without apologizing for it.

The Career Coach Website Design We Built for Kendra

A Showit website with spacious layouts, direct headlines, and copy that filters her people in without trying to convince anyone of anything. It’s clear, it’s warm and honest, and it sounds like the Kendra I’ve met over coffee and immediately trusted. (Honestly. She’s magic.)

We built in strong calls to action and made sure the structure was SEO-friendly so that people searching for career and leadership coaching could actually find her. But mostly, we built something she could feel proud of immediately.

The Result

She loved it. Passed out her business card with actual confidence for the first time. Was able to talk about her business.

And then, she realized that the container we’d built wasn’t quite the right fit. She went back to her corporate job, sat with it for another year, and did a whole lot of internal work. She’s back now and ready for round two — a new iteration that reflects where she actually is instead of where she thought she’d be.

If You’re Somewhere In The Middle

Not every website story starts with a clear vision and a full client roster. Some of them start with “I think I’m ready” and evolve from there. (Let’s be real, every website should evolve and grow alongside you!)

If you’re a coach or service provider who’s ready to have a professional home base (even if you’re still figuring out some of the details), we build websites that grow with you. All of the info is right here!
