How To Create a Knock-Out Brand That Captures Attention

Read this blog to learn how to create a knock-out brand that captures attention… ya know, the dream brand! The first thing that pops into your head when you think of branding is probably a pretty logo or color palette. Maybe even a website…but let’s back up for a second.

The visuals are a super important part of building a successful brand… but they’re not the most important thing! Especially when you’re trying to create a knock-out brand that captures attention.

(We know, it’s like we’re trying to talk ourselves out of a job here! We’re not, I promise.)

Let’s take a photographer as an example. Every touch point that a client has with you – from finding out about you, to getting to know you, making the first inquiry, to booking a session, having the session, purchasing their photos, the file delivery, your follow up, and anything that you do beyond that – is your brand.

That – which is so much more than just a logo – is your brand.

THAT is what people are talking about when you’re not in the room.

You want your brand to say, “We see you. We hear you. We care about you.”

Here’s how it’s done.

You’ll notice that in the example above, the very first step is a potential client finding out about you.

Every relationship – professional or otherwise – proceeds in the exact same order.

  1. Someone is curious about you.
  2. Then, you nurture that relationship with relevant, helpful content – and they start to know, like, and trust you.
  3. Finally, you invite them into working with you.

Let’s say that your potential clients are finding you via social media. Your goal is to show up and build that trust in your brand and business.

Before you get too far ahead of yourself, ask yourself this: Are you CRYSTAL CLEAR on your brand and it’s spot in the marketplace? Clarity is crucial to every successful brand – and it’s impossible to effectively run a business without it. It’s in every convo you have, every caption that you write, and every image that you style. Grab our free Brand Clarity Workbook!

Step 1 – Attract

Show your personality! The amount of engagement you’ll receive when you start showing up (janky bangs and all) in your stories is phenomenal. It IS terrifying, but the more you do it the easier it gets.

It also counts if you’re showing up and genuinely engaging on other people’s posts! (That’s actually a double win, because not only are they seeing and appreciating your contribution… but so is their audience!)

Step 2 – Nurture

People need a reason to stick around, and the only thing that’s going to hold their attention is if your providing them with value.

What are problems that your readers deal with? How can you help them without expecting anything in return?

Value doesn’t mean “50% off sale all day every day!” it means, “I see you, I hear you, and I’m here to help you.”

Social media is a place build relationships and connect with your readers.

Step 3 – Invite

At the end of the day, you are going to want to ask for that sale. You don’t have to be sleazy or pushy about it, but after you’ve put all of that effort into building a rapport with your audience, they’re much happier & more confident in making that purchase!

Step 4 – Delight

Providing a memorable experience for your clients is easy to overlook and tempting to brush off as unimportant.
